L’Argentine se signale à nouveau par un film choc...
Si le I’ll Never Die Alone d’Adrian Garcia Bogliano avait exploré de très pâle manière le terrain du rape and revenge voici deux ans, il se pourrait que l’Argentine nous propose enfin son premier vrai grand film choc avec They Can’t Scream.
Filmé à la manière d’un docu-menteur, le film d’Orange Cavalcante da Silva, qui vient de livrer sa première bande-annonce, semble plutôt prometteur (même si cela peut aussi bien se traduire par un énorme coup de bluff).
They Can’t Scream suit un groupe de scientifiques s’enfonçant dans la forêt tropicale grâce à un guide local. Tout se passe à merveille jusqu’à ce que les biologistes tombent sur une tribu qui pratique la zoophilie avec assiduité. Essayant de faire arrêter ces pratiques malsaines, les Occidentaux ne se rendent pas comptent qu’ils viennent de vexer leurs hôtes et que, dès lors, leur vie ne tient plus qu’à un fil...

Check out this rather vicious trailer for Argentinian horror They Can’t Scream (Ellos No Pueden Gritar). The trailer gives away very little plot apart from the fact people seem to be getting brutally killed off or tortured in the Amazon jungle. The film is made documentary style and looks extremely nasty and, in places, reminded me of the classic Cannibal Holocaust. There is no UK release date available yet, but here is the synopsis:
The story is about a young biologist who travels with a few colleagues to the Amazonian rainforest in search of medicinal herbs for their research works. With the help of a local guide, they get into the rainforest on a ship. During the voyage, the scientist’s party finds some people practicing zoophilia to a freshwater dolphin, known as ‘boto cor de rosa’. The scientists, horrified at the situation, try to stop the act, without imagining that their lives are hanging by a thread.
